Despite only working for 10 years as an artist – from the age of 27 up until his early demise at 37 – Vincent van Gogh was incredibly prolific. He produced hundreds of paintings and many more drawings and sketches. The Vincent van Gogh Paris Museum has the honor of possessing one of the biggest collections of his works. Apart from the 58 original paintings of the Dutch artist, numerous sketches and letters are on display in the museum. Through a series of texts and videos, our visitors are exposed to in-depth information on the work and life of the artist during the years he spent in France.

The relationship between works of Vincent van Gogh and works of modern contemporary artists is an important aspect of ourpermanent exhibition. By presenting the painting of the Dutch master in the context of works by contemporary artists, the Museum aims to stimulate a fruitful dialogue centred on interrogation and reflection.
